Small-leaf Clematis is sometimes called ‘Old Man’s Beard’ due to its feathery white seed heads.

The tough roots of this climbing plant bind sandy soils.

The starchy roots were harvested by Wadawurrung.

The leaves were used to treat headaches and blisters on the hands.
